Malans is a picturesque wine growing village embedded in a spectacular landscape surrounded by the mountains of the Rhine valley.  Its historic town centre is well maintained and is comprised of various historic buildings.
Fromm’s guesthouse dates back to the 17th Century, when it was known by the name “Blacksmith House” and was an aristocratic countryside residence with a stable, wine cellar, fruit trees and grape vines.

Whether on foot or by bicycle, exploring the surrounding landscape with the numerous vineyards is a must. You can even make your way to the neighbouring village Maienfeld via Jenins, Rofels and the Heidi village. Or take Malans’ own cable car “Älplibahn” https://www.aelplibahn.ch/ that fits a comfortable 8 people, up to the heights of the mountain Vilan and enjoy the spectacular scenery from the terrace of the mountain café at 1800 meters above sea level.

The local bus commutes hourly between Landquart and Bad Ragaz via the Bündner Herrschaft. On one of the few rainy days, we recommend an excursion to the famous Thermal Pools in Bad Ragaz, which are a real treat for young and old alike.

The Guesthouse’s location does also not disappoint in wintertime.
The nearest ski slopes and cross-country skiing tracks are only 10min away by car. Alternatively, you will reach the famous ski slopes of Kloster/Davos, Lenzerheide/Arosa or Flims/Laax after a 25-35min drive. For the less sportive, the beautiful walking tracks in the neighbouring valley of Prättigau present a great option for getting out and about and enjoying the magnificent mountain scenery.
After a day of being out in the snow we can light the antique tile stove for you to get cosy in the living room.

Our Wine growing region lives from the landscape, the climate and the dedication of the multiple wine makers in producing unique and region specific, characteristic wines.
We at Fromm’s Guesthouse look forward to welcoming guests from near and far!
